Assist the Music Director with monitoring student location behavior and general safety. Chaperones should not discipline students. Behavior problems should be reported immediately to the teacher.
Driver must have valid Driver’s License. The truck(s) will be located at MHS near the Music room.
Refill fuel tanks (Diesel usually) before returning to MHS. Save gas receipts for reimbursement.
Tow a two-axle 8.5 x 16 ft enclosed cargo trailer with uniforms and booster equipment.
You will need:
– Full-size truck van or SUV (examples: Ford F150 Chevy Suburban Toyota Sequoia etc.)
– Class 3 trailer hitch (5000 lbs or more tow rating)
– 7 Blade RV style trailer light harness
– Trailer brake controller required
– full vehicle insurance coverage
– Please make and appointment to have a member of the Music Boosters or district maintenance inspect the tow rating and wiring on your vehicle before volunteering.
Help Color Guard with make-up hair and dress. May be asked to help in other areas (pit crew or tail gate etc.)
Coordinate all activities of the pit crew at the direction of the Music Director. Activities include job assignments pit crew practices truck loading and unloading and prop assembly and disassembly.
Help to push/carry instruments podiums and sound equipment on/off the field before and after performance. Pit Crew will also assist with loading instruments and props on and off the truck before and after performances.
Help assemble/disassemble props and push them on and off the field at the direction of the Props Coordinator.

Membership at COSTCO is required. Responsible for purchasing items from a pre-determined list and making sure all items are delivered to MHS band room/concession stand before noon Friday. Must save receipts for re-imbursement by Music Boosters.
Travel to the field show with the band. Load food booster items and other supplies into Cargo Van in the morning. Prepare and serve food (pre-determined menu) to students. Includes clean up wash dishes and return booster items and supplies to Booster Storage (room D-3) upon return.

A parent volunteer to record our Marching Band Field Show performances(wide-angle). May require climbing a ladder to the top of the press box. The video camera will be provided.
Prepare merchandise for sale. Sell items. Take money/make change. Clean up and return unsold merchandise to the booster room.
Make sure guests present a valid event ticket and prohibit guests from entering with coolers alcohol or large bags.
The assistant supervisor helps the supervisor coordinate overall weekend activities. You also will be designated shopper on the event day for any other shopping needs. If you are the parent of a freshman or sophomore and will be volunteering in future years please sign up for this position to gain experience in the entire process.
Prepare and serve food; take money/make change; maintain a clean working environment. Bring your own hat and apron. Food safety regulations require wearing a hat in food preparation areas at all times. The early shift sets up concession stand at beginning of shift. The later shift cleans up concession stand and returns booster items and supplies to room D-3 (booster storage) at end of shift.
Prepare and serve food for schools that have submitted a pre-order of meals for their students.
Including: barbecue propane burner/stoves etc. Boil water cook meat etc. Please bring your own hat and apron. Food safety regulations require wearing a hat in food preparation areas at all times.
Oversee and assist students who will direct buses and traffic. Keep unauthorized vehicles out of the parking lot. Provide directions to visitor parking. Ensure that buses don’t collide with the solar panels.
Responsible for helping maintain warm-up and performance schedule at his/her location. Maintain ‘quiet zones’ around performance and warm-up areas. Assist guests as needed. Be able to give directions to the nearest restrooms (Gym Foyer) concession stand registration etc. Make sure no equipment/personal items are left behind after each group exits.
A Music Boosters Board Member or a person who has extensive prior Music in the Parks experience. Responsible for both Friday and Saturday; calls and reminds all volunteers for that weekend; oversees and coordinates all aspects of volunteers.
Sell t-shirts and other memorabilia outside the concession stand at Music in the Parks. Also communicate between concession stand and barbecue.

The Car Pool Driver uses his/her private vehicle to transport students to and from an event. Provide the Music Director with the following information: Make and model of the car copy of insurance and the number of belted seats (include driver).

Participate in committee meetings and perform committee duties and activities as needed.
